C.G.B. Flight Logging System

C.G.B. Companion

Update your C.G.B. settings through your computer’s browser. CGB Companion applies a parameter file supplied by Anno Domini Designs, helps you save a backup and checks the settings after restart. No Mission Planner installation is required.

Open CGB Companion

You’ll need: a computer running Chrome or Microsoft Edge, a USB data cable and the parameter file for your update.

The current tool supports C.G.B. units running ArduPlane 4.6.3. If it reports a different firmware version or an unsupported setting, contact us with the message shown.

C.G.B. Settings for STAB V2

Use this file when configuring a compatible C.G.B. for STAB V2.

Download C.G.B. Settings for STAB V2

Filename: CGB_STAB_Profile_2.0.param

The link opens Google Drive. Use Drive’s download button to save the file to your computer. Keep the .param extension.

How to Apply a Settings File

  1. Download the parameter file supplied for your update.
  2. Connect the C.G.B. to your computer using a USB data cable. Close Mission Planner or any other program using the same USB connection.
  3. Open CGB Companion in desktop Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  4. Click Connect CGB and select the C.G.B. from the browser’s device list.
  5. Choose the downloaded .param file. The tool reads the affected settings and shows which values will change.
  6. Download the original-settings backup, then click Apply changes. Keep the unit connected while the tool works.
  7. Follow the instructions to power-cycle the C.G.B. Remove all power sources when restarting it, then reconnect for verification.
  8. When Setup complete appears, you can disconnect the unit. Select Set up another CGB if you have another unit to configure.

CGB Companion changes settings; it does not install firmware. Your selected parameter file and device settings are processed locally in your browser.

Firmware Download

Version 0.5.0 · Build 20260922-104001
For the STAB V2 Ground Unit.

Download STAB V2 Firmware

The link opens Google Drive. Click its download button to save the firmware file.

How to Update the Ground Unit

  1. Download STAB_0.5.0_20260922-104001.bin to your phone, tablet or computer before connecting to the Ground Unit.
  2. Keep the Ground Unit connected to reliable USB power. Hold the left and right front buttons (A + C) together for about two seconds to enter Wi-Fi mode.
  3. Connect your phone, tablet or computer to STAB-WiFi. Stay connected if your device displays a “no internet” message.
  4. Open http://192.168.4.1/firmware in your browser. This address works only while connected to the Ground Unit.
  5. Select Choose File, choose the downloaded .bin file, then select Update.
  6. Keep power connected until the update finishes and the Ground Unit restarts.
  7. Enter Wi-Fi mode again if needed, reconnect and confirm the Firmware page shows Build 20260922-104001.
  8. Review your settings. Hold A + C for about two seconds to leave Wi-Fi mode, then confirm normal operation and audio before flying.

Bluetooth audio is unavailable while Wi-Fi mode is active.

Only the firmware .bin file is installed on the Ground Unit. Parameter files belong in CGB Companion; guide PDFs and software-license ZIPs are not firmware files.

Software Licenses and Source Materials

The matching STAB firmware package includes third-party licenses and notices, covered source materials, library-replacement files, customer software rights and installation instructions. You do not need this package for a normal firmware update.

Google Drive may say this ZIP is too large for its virus scanner. That message concerns Google’s scanning limit; it is not a malware finding.

STAB Support

For assistance, include:

  • Your firmware version and Build ID, shown on the Firmware page.
  • A description of the issue and what you were doing when it happened.
  • The downloaded Ground Unit session log, where available.

You can download session logs from the Logs page while connected to STAB-WiFi. These are troubleshooting records; aircraft flight logs for Flight Coach come from the C.G.B.
